The Gryfindor Braves got a superb performance from second baseman José Cuervo. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Brinkley. The Belugas won the game, 3-2. In spite of the loss, Cuervo was named the player of the game. He was 2 for 2 with 2 singles and 3 walks. Brinkley reliever Jack Friedlander picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Javier Roldán absorbed the loss. Miguel Toro recorded the save for Brinkley, his 15th of the season.
One important at-bat came with runners on 1st and 2nd in the top of the seventh inning. Facing Gryfindor hurler William Fothergill, Luis Yander La O, who is tied for 5th in the 3AAA in runs scored with 36, hit a single. The Belugas went on to win.
"You get some opportunities, you better take advantage of them," said Gryfindor manager Allen Evans.
The Braves, at 20-34, have lost 4 in a row.
