Belugas Clip Timber Hawks in Tight Contest
|
The Brinkley Belugas and Augusta Timber Hawks obliged those fans who came to Belugas Ballpark looking for a good time.
The Brinkley Belugas topped the Augusta Timber Hawks by the score of 9-8, with the biggest share of the credit going to left fielder Gerald Kaufman. Kaufman was 3-3 with 3 singles and a walk for the Belugas on the day. Brinkley reliever Miguel Toro got the win, raising his record to 3-3. Pedro Valdéz was tagged with the loss.
Apu Nahasapeemapetilon was the walk-off hero for Brinkley. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Belugas catcher hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"We found a way to get it done," Kaufman said.
The Belugas improved to a lofty 29-11.
