Red Pandas Roll to 8-2 Win Over Halberds
|
Benefiting from an exceptional performance from Jesús Orozco, the Sioux Falls Red Pandas defeated the Alloway Halberds, 8-2. Orozco went 2-4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3 for the Red Pandas. Shigeko Sakoda, credited with the win, is now 1-0. He allowed 1 run on 4 hits in 3 innings. Ron Madison closed the door for Sioux Falls, picking up his 1st save of the year.
In the bottom of the third inning, left fielder Ramón Gómez came through big-time for the Red Pandas. With Sioux Falls leading 2-0, he belted a 2-run home run.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Gómez said after the game.
Sioux Falls has now won 3 in a row.
