|
Augusta center fielder Owen Sharts had a 3-RBI performance, which helped his team grab a 9-3 win over the Gryfindor Braves. Won-u Yi got the win, improving to 3-0. He held the Braves to 3 earned runs on 6 hits over 7 innings, while striking out 4 and walking 3. Today's win puts Augusta at 18-8, while Gryfindor falls to 11-15.
Sharts contributed a big hit, a 2-run triple, for Augusta in the top of the seventh. With his team trailing 3-2, Sharts took a fastball from Octávio Ríos and stroked the triple to right-center. His 3rd triple of the season allowed the Timber Hawks to leap in front, 4-3.
"The boys came out and just played their butts off," said Augusta manager Justin Trewhells.
