Kenny Koehler never let the Drummers get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his slider, to pitch the Red Pandas to a 6-1 win. In 5 innings, Koehler surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 0. He allowed 1 run. At 10-12, Sioux Falls is in 6th place in the Menard's AAA.
Jorge Alou, who is tied for 7th in the 3AAA in bases on balls with 16, aided the Sioux Falls cause with a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the seventh. For the game, the center fielder was 1 for 3 with a walk.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Koehler told reporters after the game.
