The Belugas faced a stiff challenge from Tortolita pitcher Johnnie Bough, but persevered to claim a win at Drummers Ballpark. The final score was 3-2. Bough went 7 innings and allowed 1 earned run. Miguel Toro earned the save, his 4th, for the Belugas. The Belugas, now 9-4, have been on a roll in the early going.
Guy Toussaint, who is tied for 3rd in the 3AAA in total bases with 32, contributed to the Brinkley win with a 2-run single in the top of the ninth. For the game, the left fielder had 3 hits in 5 at-bats with 1 home run, 2 singles, 1 run scored, and 3 runs batted in.
"It was just a matter of executing," said Brinkley manager Ricardo Medina.
