Eikki Kankaanperä put on a hitting clinic today as the Brinkley Belugas dumped the Hialeah Dodos 16-6 at Dodos Ballpark.

The Brinkley center fielder made Hialeah defenders earn their pay, lashing Hialeah pitching for 5 hits in 6 at-bats in the game. He told BNN reporters after the game that his strategy was "just hit it where they pitched it."

"Too often I try too hard to pull the ball," Kankaanperä said in his postgame press conference. "Today, I just went with the pitch."

Eikki Kankaanperä singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, struck out in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Alberto Robles in the 8th and hit a three-run home run off Cisco Ortíz in the 9th.
