Submarinos End Paige's Streak
Tuesday, August 17th, 2032
It was the best of both worlds for the Amarillo Submarinos today at Terriers Ballpark, as they defeated the Santa Fe Revolvers 5-1 and also snapped Ken Paige's 20-game hitting streak. The 21-year-old Santa Fe first baseman failed to get a hit in 3 at-bats.

"Nothing personal against Paige, we just wanted to win the game," said Submarinos skipper Theodore Johnston. "We did a great job keeping him off-balance and guessing."

When asked by reporters about his streak coming to an end, Paige frowned and said, "I won't lie and say that I'm not disappointed about it, but I'd feel much better if we had won."

This year Paige has collected a .329 batting average to date with 105 hits in 319 at-bats, 44 RBIs, 4 home runs and scored 31 times. He has played in 80 games.
