Winter Haven Starter Selected Best Pitcher Wednesday, September 1st, 2032 There's something about a young rookie winning the USSL Rookie Pitcher of the Month trophy that sends shock waves through the league. Such is the case with Gao Mar, a 20-year-old starter for the Winter Haven Sun Sox. In August, he topped off the month with a 4-0 mark and 1.59 ERA in 5 starts, tossed 39.2 innings, fanned 54 and held opposing teams to a .155 average. Mar has made 13 starts, tossed 91 innings, struck out 122 batters and walked 22. His record is 8-0 with a 2.57 ERA and he has limited other teams to a .212 batting average. |
