Pizza Rats, Beckman Blank Athletic Club KC Monday, August 9th, 2032 Today was Kevin Beckman's turn in the rotation for the Staten Island Pizza Rats and he made the most of it, shutting out the Athletic Club KC U-21 on 3 hits. The 21-year-old left-hander led the Pizza Rats to an easy 6-0 victory, allowing 1 walk and tallying 10 strikeouts. "I hope we miss him next time," Athletic Club KC manager Byron Sanders said. "Beckman certainly pitched a strong game against us today. He was in a groove, throwing everything for strikes. Throwing hard. Changing speeds." So far this year Beckman has made 15 starts, tossed 116.2 innings, struck out 103 batters and walked 21. His record is 8-4 with a 3.47 ERA and he has limited opposing teams to a .258 batting average.
