Shockers End Buser's Streak
Wednesday, September 1st, 2032
It was the best of both worlds for the Surprise Shockers today at Ballpark of Fresno, as they defeated the Phoenix Hotspur Academy 10-4 and also snapped Valerius Buser's 22-game hitting streak. The 20-year-old Phoenix right fielder failed to get a hit in 3 at-bats.
"Nothing personal against Buser, we just wanted to win the game," said Shockers skipper Eric Henley. "We did a great job keeping him off-balance and guessing."
When asked by reporters about his streak coming to an end, Buser frowned and said, "I won't lie and say that I'm not disappointed about it, but I'd feel much better if we had won."
Buser is hitting .318 so far this season with 56 RBIs and 65 runs scored. He has 116 hits including 20 home runs, 34 walks and .382 OBP.
