Morterero Earns SAAA Player of the Week Monday, July 12th, 2032 23-year-old Ramón Morterero made a few Athletic Club KC headlines during this past week as the rookie right fielder proved he could compete at the plate with his high-school idols. He captured the attention of fans, journalists and USSL Triple A officials last week and today took home Player of the Week honors for his effort. He cracked 8 hits in 17 at-bats to put up a .471 average. Morterero collected 3 home runs, 8 RBIs and scored 4 runs. This season Morterero is swinging the bat at a .308 rate with 65 hits in 211 at-bats. To date he has hit 11 home runs, scored 35 runs and driven in 49. |
