Pennsauken Snaps Degollado's Streak at 24
Sunday, September 5th, 2032
For 24 straight games, Ramón Degollado tried to ignore his hitting streak. It wasn't easy.

Well, the 22-year-old Vermont Lake Monsters third baseman can forget about it now -- it's over, courtesy of the Pennsauken Flyers. The Flyers held him hitless in 5 at-bats at Pennsauken Park today and snapped his consecutive-game hitting string at 24.

There was at least one good note to the end of the streak, however, as the Lake Monsters took the win by the score of 6-5.

"I tried to ignore it for weeks, but you guys in the media wouldn't let me," he joked with reporters after the game. "I'm looking forward to some peace and quiet now."

In 95 games Degollado is hitting .350 this season with 144 hits, 8 home runs, 51 RBIs, 34 walks, .407 OBP and has scored 67 runs.
