Bruno Rips Vermont for 5 Hits
Friday, July 30th, 2032
Felipe Bruno put on a hitting clinic today as the Scranton Supernovas dumped the Vermont Lake Monsters 10-5 at Monster Field.
The Scranton first baseman made Vermont defenders earn their pay, lashing Vermont pitching for 5 hits in 6 at-bats in the game. He told BNN reporters after the game that his strategy was "just hit it where they pitched it."
"Too often I try too hard to pull the ball," Bruno said in his postgame press conference. "Today, I just went with the pitch."
Felipe Bruno singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, hit a two-run double in the 4th, doubled in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Álex Bane in the 7th and struck out in the 9th.
This year Bruno has hit at a .271 clip with 34 RBIs, 11 home runs and 26 runs scored.
