Lynx End Cheng's Streak Saturday, September 4th, 2032 It was the best of both worlds for the Calgary Lynx today at Lynx Stadium, as they defeated the Santa Barbara Golden Cranes 7-2 and also snapped Xu Cheng's 20-game hitting streak. The 23-year-old Santa Barbara center fielder failed to get a hit in 4 at-bats. "Nothing personal against Cheng, we just wanted to win the game," said Lynx skipper Ricardo Betancourt. "We did a great job keeping him off-balance and guessing." When asked by reporters about his streak coming to an end, Cheng frowned and said, "I won't lie and say that I'm not disappointed about it, but I'd feel much better if we had won." Cheng is hitting .298 this year with 10 home runs and 51 RBIs. He also has an OBP of .359, 35 walks and scored 61 times. |
