Cheng Hits in 20 Straight Games Friday, September 3rd, 2032 The Santa Barbara Golden Cranes may have proven to be mere mortals today as they lost 9-3 to the Jersey City Tritons, but Xu Cheng continued to hit like a god. The center fielder collected 1 hit in 4 at-bats in the loss and extended his hitting streak to 20 games. "Cheng is playing great and is on fire right now," Golden Cranes manager William Franklin said. "Hopefully his play can spark the rest of our team and help us pick up some wins." Cheng was apparently not happy with the game and when pressed by reporters in the locker room only said "nothing else matters but the loss." Xu Cheng hit a solo-shot off Ricardo Rodríguez in the 1st, grounded out in the 4th, flied out in the 5th and flied out in the 8th. Cheng is hitting .301 this year with 10 home runs and 51 RBIs. He also has an OBP of .362, 35 walks and scored 61 times. |
