Dodos End Christopher's Streak Wednesday, July 14th, 2032 It was the best of both worlds for the Hialeah Dodos today at Dodos Ballpark, as they defeated the Alaskan Humpbacks 10-9 and also snapped Bobby Christopher's 21-game hitting streak. The 35-year-old Alaskan catcher failed to get a hit in 4 at-bats. "Nothing personal against Christopher, we just wanted to win the game," said Dodos skipper Kyle Besley. "We did a great job keeping him off-balance and guessing." When asked by reporters about his streak coming to an end, Christopher frowned and said, "I won't lie and say that I'm not disappointed about it, but I'd feel much better if we had won." In 28 games Christopher is hitting .348 this season with 39 hits, 8 home runs, 34 RBIs, 4 walks, .375 OBP and has scored 21 runs. |
