Fog End Trautmann's Streak Monday, August 9th, 2032 It was the best of both worlds for the Sunset District Fog today at Sea World, as they defeated the Alaskan Humpbacks 6-3 and also snapped Danny Trautmann's 25-game hitting streak. The 22-year-old Alaskan first baseman failed to get a hit in 3 at-bats. "Nothing personal against Trautmann, we just wanted to win the game," said Fog skipper John Muñóz. "We did a great job keeping him off-balance and guessing." When asked by reporters about his streak coming to an end, Trautmann frowned and said, "I won't lie and say that I'm not disappointed about it, but I'd feel much better if we had won." Trautmann is hitting .356 so far this season with 52 RBIs and 41 runs scored. He has 95 hits including 8 home runs, 17 walks and .398 OBP. |
