Rocky Mountain Snaps Si's Streak at 22 Sunday, July 11th, 2032 For 22 straight games, Yu-zeng Si tried to ignore his hitting streak. It wasn't easy. Well, the 22-year-old Buckhead Bowties third baseman can forget about it now -- it's over, courtesy of the Rocky Mountain Nuggets. The Nuggets held him hitless in 3 at-bats at 5 Paces Park today and snapped his consecutive-game hitting string at 22. There was at least one good note to the end of the streak, however, as the Bowties took the win by the score of 4-1. "I tried to ignore it for weeks, but you guys in the media wouldn't let me," he joked with reporters after the game. "I'm looking forward to some peace and quiet now." Si is hitting .351 this year with 7 home runs and 40 RBIs. He also has an OBP of .428, 26 walks and scored 24 times. |
