Mango, Pérez Blank Gwinnett County Sunday, August 8th, 2032 It wasn't easy but the Provo Mango made it look that way. Starter Albert Pérez shut out the Gwinnett County Black Cats despite having what he later called "sub-par" stuff, and the Provo Mango cruised to victory, 3-0. Pérez allowed only 2 hits and rang up 9 strikeouts but insisted later that he did not deserve primary credit for the win. "It didn't feel quite right today, but I got a lot of help to get through," he said. "I trusted my catcher and the guys behind me bailed me out more than once when I screwed up." So far this year Pérez has made 17 starts, tossed 119.1 innings, struck out 100 batters and walked 35. His record is 5-8 with a 3.85 ERA and he has limited opposing teams to a .245 batting average.
