U-24 End Yacoobi's Streak Sunday, July 25th, 2032 It was the best of both worlds for the Athletic Club KC U-24 today at ACKC Youth Field, as they defeated the Grim Reapers 3-1 and also snapped Bearooz Yacoobi's 23-game hitting streak. The 19-year-old Grim third baseman failed to get a hit in 4 at-bats. "Nothing personal against Yacoobi, we just wanted to win the game," said U-24 skipper Mike Cunningham. "We did a great job keeping him off-balance and guessing." When asked by reporters about his streak coming to an end, Yacoobi frowned and said, "I won't lie and say that I'm not disappointed about it, but I'd feel much better if we had won." Yacoobi is hitting .278 this year with 5 home runs and 33 RBIs. He also has an OBP of .303, 7 walks and scored 37 times. |
