Hawks End Hernández's Streak
Tuesday, May 11th, 2032
It was the best of both worlds for the Highwood Hawks today at York Park, as they defeated the York Revolution 6-0 and also snapped Jesús Hernández's 22-game hitting streak. The 20-year-old York right fielder failed to get a hit in 4 at-bats.
"Nothing personal against Hernández, we just wanted to win the game," said Hawks skipper Bill Callahan. "We did a great job keeping him off-balance and guessing."
When asked by reporters about his streak coming to an end, Hernández frowned and said, "I won't lie and say that I'm not disappointed about it, but I'd feel much better if we had won."
In 10 games Hernández is hitting .326 this season with 15 hits, no home runs, 3 RBIs, 1 walk, .340 OBP and has scored 5 runs.
