Maxwell and de Vizcaya Brawl, League Suspends Them Sunday, August 29th, 2032 After an intense confrontation, both the Storm Dave Maxwell and the Caterpillars Pierre de Vizcaya were handed their punishments today. The league commissioner's office issued suspensions for an on-the-field conflict that occurred at a recent Syracuse-Grand Forks game. Both players will miss 4 games as a result of their actions. "Sometimes we go too far and have to pay the consequences," Dave Maxwell commented later. "Hopefully cooler heads will prevail the next time we play." In 77 games Maxwell is hitting .253 this season with 66 hits, 2 home runs, 31 RBIs, 39 walks, .354 OBP and has scored 30 runs. To date this year de Vizcaya has won 3 and lost 5 with a 2.60 ERA, 7 saves and 88 strikeouts in 34 relief appearances. |
