Jing-shuan Thum has to call it a season. The Myrtle Beach Seahawks starting pitcher sustained a season-ending injury against the Syracuse Storm and will not play again this year according to club doctors. Thum was injured while throwing a pitch. His doctors diagnosed it as a torn ulnar collateral ligament and stated that he would not be able to play for 12-13 months.

Thum has a 2-3 season record so far. In 2 starts, he has fanned 42 batters in 61.2 innings with a 4.38 ERA.
