Patriots Lose to Evergreens, 2-1
|
The Portland Evergreens and Boston Patriots put on a pitchers' duel at Evergreen Park.
The Portland Evergreens went home winners at Evergreen Park, thanks in large part to starter Yoo-chul Mun. Mun silenced the Boston Patriots, enabling Portland to grab the 2-1 win. Júlio Rodríguez recorded his 7th save for Portland.
Adrián Gómez had a clutch at-bat with one out in the bottom of the sixth for the Evergreens. Coming up with a runner on 2nd and Portland trailing 1-0, he hit a 2-run home run.
In postgame comments to the Portland Times, Gómez said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
The hot start continues for the defending champion Evergreens, who took their 13th win in 19 games this year.
