Despite a great performance by Ft. Worth second baseman Vincent Vega, the Wizarding Express defeated the Cattlemen by the score of 7-6 at The Cattle Pen. Vega went 2-3 with a double and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Wizarding reliever Marcos Oquendo picked up the win, bumping his record to 5-3. Nicholas Wells was collared with the loss. The Cattlemen, now 35-40, have lost 4 straight.
David Holbrook's hit in the top of the ninth was a game-changer. With two out, he rapped a fastball from Nicholas Wells for a 2-run double. It put Wizarding in front, 7-6.
"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Ft. Worth manager Scott Thompson. "The effort was great."
