Dutchmen Topple Thundercats with Late Rally

Richardson City pitcher Joe Pruitt gave the Dutchmen all they could handle, but in the end, New Amsterdam left The Thunder Dome with a 5-4 win. Pruitt allowed 1 earned run on 2 hits over 7 innings. The winner was Kyle Boddy, who threw 120 pitches over 7.1 innings. The right-hander was charged with 3 runs on 6 hits. New Amsterdam now owns a record of 41-33.
New Amsterdam catcher Félix López changed the complexion of the game in the top of the eighth inning. That's when he belted a 3-run home run off Gustavo Tobías. His 4th home run of the season put New Amsterdam in front, 4-3.
"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said New Amsterdam manager Sal Gaudio.
