Northern Lions BC Lose, 5-2, at The Thunder Dome
|
Getting a good performance from designated hitter Jorge Vargas, the Richardson City Thundercats defeated the Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC, 5-2. Vargas went 2 for 4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Thundercats. Richardson City starter Bartolomeu Lio was credited with the win after throwing 112 pitches over 6.2 innings. His record now stands at 3-6. At 27-38, Richardson City is in last place in the Silver League.
Vargas had a key at-bat for Richardson City early in the game. With a runner on 3rd, he hit a 2-run home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season and gave Richardson City an early 2-0 lead.
"Enjoyed this one," Vargas told the Richardson City Chronicle. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
