Round 2033 Game 1 Victory for Molina\n and Northern Virginia
|
The Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids moved to within one game of the Round 2034 today, downing the visiting Toledo Stingers at Atlantica by a score of 5-2. Rainbow Mermaids right-hander Ramón Molina was named player of the game after a strong outing in which he threw 7 innings of 5-hit ball. The win gives the Rainbow Mermaids a - advantage in the best-of- Round 2033.
Northern Virginia catcher Galtero Suárez helped the Rainbow Mermaids go up, 2-0, in the bottom of the second inning. With the game tied, Suárez hit a 2-run double off Toledo pitcher Rafael Rodríguez.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Molina said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
The next game is scheduled for Saturday at Pacesetter Park in Toledo. The scheduled starters for the game are Raúl Gómez for Northern Virginia and Rob Silva for Toledo.
