Northern Lions BC Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Gold Sox
The Chicago Gold Sox got a superb performance from pitcher Tony Alfonso. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Thunder Bay. The Northern Lions BC won the game, 3-2. In spite of the loss, Alfonso was named the player of the game. He threw 6 innings allowing 2 runs. The Northern Lions BC improved to 35-28.

Denis Higgins was the walk-off hero for Thunder Bay. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Northern Lions BC shortstop hit a dramatic solo home run to send the teams home.

"We found a way to get it done," Higgins said.
