The Kingston Township Legion moved to within one game of the Round 2034 today, downing the Houston 1837 BBC on the road at Houston Grounds by a score of 5-4. Legion left-hander Norberto Rodríguez was named player of the game after a strong outing in which he threw 6 innings of 5-hit ball. The win gives the Legion a - advantage in the best-of- Round 2033.
Kingston Township used the timely hitting of Juanito González to capture the win. The shortstop stroked a 2-run double in the top of the third inning to put the Legion on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but he made it count.
"We'll enjoy this win," said Rodríguez. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
