Facing elimination, the Richardson City Thundercats were looking for a savior. For today, at least, Juan Valéncia delivered.

At The Thunder Dome, the 32-year old pitched a game for the ages to fend off the Wizarding Express and help the Thundercats close their deficit in the Round 2033. Valéncia threw a 9-inning, complete-game shutout in the 4-0 Richardson City win, striking out 8 and allowing 1 hit. The Thundercats how trail - in the best-of- series.

Valéncia was in the zone all game. He frustrated Wizarding hitters while giving the Thundercats 9 innings of quality work. Valéncia threw 103 pitches, allowing 1 hit and getting 8 punchouts.

"We put it together today and came out with the win," Valéncia said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
