Wacher, Screaming Eagles Wallop Love Boats in Game 5 of R1
The Mercer Island Screaming Eagles went into extra innings against the Lake Minnetonka Love Boats but ultimately moved to within one game of the Round 2 today. The Screaming Eagles downed the Love Boats at Heron Field by a score of 8-6. Mercer Island shortstop Dennis Wacher was named player of the game after he went 3-5 with a home run and a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The win gives the Screaming Eagles a 3-2 advantage in the best-of-5 PL AA Championship.

The Screaming Eagles beat the Love Boats with some clutch hitting. The single by Bart Goodine in the top of the tenth is a good example. With two down, Goodine gave his team the lead, 6-4, when he came through with the big hit.

"Winning is contagious," said Wacher. "We're looking forward to the next game."
