PL AA Championship Game 1 Victory for García\n and Lake Minnetonka
|
The Lake Minnetonka Love Boats started the PL AA Championship in style today, downing the visiting Mercer Island Screaming Eagles at Heron Field by a score of 7-1 to stake an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-5 series. Love Boats left-hander Alejandro García was named player of the game after he threw 8 innings of 6-hit ball.
García, who was born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, threw 112 pitches over 8.2 innings, while allowing 1 earned run.
"I thought we played a nice game," García told the Lake Minnetonka Gazette. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow. Slated to start are Zion DeBose for Mercer Island and Dylan Telford for Lake Minnetonka.
