Road Win Lifts Ft. Polk South to 3-2 Lead in R1
|
When the games really matter, the Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks put on their best show, beating the San Bernardino Grasshoppers by a final score of 4-0 today. Lucas Akerval earned player of the game honors, as he threw 8 innings of 4-hit ball. Ft. Polk South now leads San Bernardino 3-2 in the best-of-5 affair.
The Thunder Hawks used some clutch hitting to beat the Grasshoppers, a good example being the at-bat of Jimbob Ghostkeeper in the top of the sixth. With two down, Ghostkeeper gave his team the lead, 1-0, when he hit a run-scoring double.
"At least it was over quickly," Grasshoppers manager Manny Cuellar said. "We'll just have to try our luck again."
