Grasshoppers Hammered by Thien, Drop Game 4 to Thunder Hawks
The Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks and the San Bernardino Grasshoppers will take the 3L AA Championship to a decisive 5th game. In a must-win situation today, the Thunder Hawks beat the Grasshoppers 9-8 at Thunder Hawks Ballpark to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. Ft. Polk South shortstop Qu-bing Thien was named player of the game in the win after he was 4-4 with a home run, a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs.

Ft. Polk South third baseman Pedro Larate contributed to the cause with a 2-run double in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, Larate was 2 for 4 with a double and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2.

"It's nice to come out on top today," said Thien.

Game 5 is scheduled for Monday at Field of the Grasshoppers in San Bernardino. The scheduled starters for the game are Daryl Keirl for Ft. Polk South and Lucas Akerval for San Bernardino.
