When he got to Staten Island, Ed Molloy was just worrying about staying on the roster. Today, he was starring in the SL R Championship.

The 21-year-old rookie right-hander shut out the visiting Amarillo Warheads 4-0 in a remarkable performance at Ballpark of Califon today. With the win, the Pizza Rats took a 2-0 lead in the best-of-5 SL R Championship.

The Warheads had trouble solving Molloy, who surrendered no earned runs on 4 hits over 8 innings.

"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Molloy told reporters after the game.

The next game is set to be played Sunday, September 12th, 2032. The scheduled starters for the game are Teok-kyu Ch'oe for the Staten Island Pizza Rats and Jonathan Floyd for the the Amarillo Warheads.
