Music Win, Move to Within 1 Game of Round 2
|
Despite a great performance by Gibtown starter Ernesto López, the Memphis Music defeated the Elephants by the score of 5-2 at Wrigley Field today. López threw 8 innings of 4-hit ball to earn player of the game honors, but could not prevent the Music from moving one game closer to the Round 2. Memphis now leads the PL R Championchip 2-0.
Ramón Barbosa had the most critical at-bat for Memphis. With one in the top of the ninth inning, Barbosa hit a 0-1 fastball from Stewart Cartwright for a 2-run double. It put Memphis in front, 4-2.
"We'll enjoy this win," said Barbosa. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
Game 3 is scheduled for Saturday, September 11th, 2032 at Mammoths Ballpark. The scheduled starters for the game are David Fuentes for Gibtown and Branlyn Jaraba for Memphis.
