Alaskan Breaks Through for First Win in 3L AAA Championship; Now Trails 2-1
|
The Alaskan Humpbacks have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Brinkley Belugas, winning 3-2 at Belugas Ballpark today. Humpbacks left-hander Zadock Dinkelmann was named player of the game after he threw 5 innings of 4-hit ball. The win cuts the deficit facing the Humpbacks to 2-1 in the best-of-5 3L AAA Championship.
Ron Stewart made it 3-2 in favor of Alaskan when he delivered a solo home run. It came with no one out in the top of the eighth. The Humpbacks went on to win.
"I really like what we did out there today," Stewart said after the game.
Game 4 is scheduled for tomorrow at Belugas Ballpark. The scheduled starters for the game are Júlio Valenzuela for Alaskan and Matt Davenport for Brinkley.
