The Delaware 1787 BC have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Connetquot Chiefs, winning 7-2 at The Big Teepee today. 1787 BC second baseman Félix Ellard was named player of the game after he was 2 for 4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice. The win cuts the deficit facing the 1787 BC to 2-1 in the best-of-5 SL A Championship.

Ellard delivered in the top of the second inning for Delaware. With the game tied and runners on 1st and 2nd, the second baseman hit a 3-run home run to left.

"We put it together today and came out with the win," Ellard said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."

The next game is scheduled for tomorrow at The Big Teepee. Slated to start are Ron Fernández for Delaware and Sheldon Whiteside for Connetquot.
