Almost There: Vancouver On Cusp of R1 Triumph After 3-2 Win

Despite a great performance by Las Vegas starter Germán Rodríguez, the Vancouver Grey Wolves defeated the Flamingos by the score of 3-2 at The Strip today. Rodríguez threw 5 innings of shutout ball to earn player of the game honors, but could not prevent the Grey Wolves from moving one game closer to the Round 2. Vancouver now leads the Round 1 - .
José Jarca's hit in the top of the ninth was a game-changer. With two out, he rapped a curveball from Cris Herrera for a 3-run home run. It put Vancouver in front, 3-2.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Jarca told reporters after the game.
