Game was big. So was Manuel Delgadillo.
The D.C. starter rose to the occasion at Gold Sox Field today, earning player of the game honors after leading the Divided to a crucial 6-2 victory over the Chicago Gold Sox. Delgadillo threw 7 innings of 2-hit ball as the Divided won on the road to seize a - lead in the best-of- Silver League Championship.
D.C. used the timely hitting of Ryan Marken to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the fourth inning to put the Divided on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Marken said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
