Game was big. So was John Hottinger.
The D.C. starter rose to the occasion at 5 Paces Park today, earning player of the game honors after leading the Divided to a crucial 4-1 victory over the Buckhead Bowties. Hottinger threw 8 innings of 5-hit ball as the Divided won on the road to seize a - lead in the best-of- Silver League Championship.
Hottinger was in the zone all game. He frustrated Buckhead hitters while giving the Divided 8 innings of quality work. Hottinger threw 103 pitches, allowing 5 hits and getting 6 punchouts.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Hottinger said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
