Pivotal Game Goes to Host Flamingos, 2-1
|
The Las Vegas Flamingos and the Echo Park Lakers went into extra innings at The Strip today, with Las Vegas emerging victorious. The 2-1 win means the Flamingos are now a game away from sweeping the Lakers from the Round 1. Despite the loss, Lakers right-hander Stef Dijkman was named player of the game after a strong outing in which he came in in relief and pitched to 23 batters . The win gives Las Vegas a - advantage in the best-of- series.
Baldomero Avino swatted a solo home run for Las Vegas in the bottom of the 19th. The first baseman went 2 for 8 for the game, including 1 home run and 1 double. He scored 1 run and batted in 1.
In postgame comments, Avino said he was glad to contribute to an exciting win.
