Almost There: D.C. On Cusp of R1 Triumph After 4-3 Win
The D.C. Divided are one game away from a sweep after a 4-3 win over the visiting New Orleans Voodoo at Washington Stadium today. Divided right-hander John Hottinger was named player of the game after a strong outing in which he threw 8 innings allowing 3 runs. D.C. now holds a - advantage in the best-of- Silver League Championship.

Had Yao-pang Chiang not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Chiang hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Divided.

"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Hottinger told reporters after the game.
