Adams, Nuggets Sink Pandas Again in Game
|
The Rocky Mountain Nuggets moved to within one game of the Round 2 today, downing the Montana Pandas on the road at Panda Park by a score of 4-3. Nuggets left fielder Ed Adams was named player of the game after he was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The win gives the Nuggets a - advantage in the best-of- Third League Championship.
Rocky Mountain used the timely hitting of Manuel Becerra to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the fourth inning to put the Nuggets on top, 3-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Becerra told a Rocky Mountain Times reporter. "Sometimes we need just to relax."
