Still Kicking: Philadelphia 1776 Cut Boston Series Lead to - With Late Win
|
The Philadelphia 1776 BC went into extra innings against the Boston Patriots but ultimately moved to within one game of the Round 2 today. The BC downed the Patriots at Dunkin Donuts Park by a score of 4-3. Philadelphia 1776 left-hander Masami Kogawa was named player of the game after a solid outing in which he threw 9 innings allowing 3 runs. The win gives the BC a - advantage in the best-of- Silver League Championship.
Mikko Haataja's hit in the top of the 14th was a game-changer. With two out, he rapped a fastball from Armando Garay for a run-scoring single. It put Philadelphia 1776 in front, 4-3.
"Our team showed some gumption," said Haataja. "I like it."
