Snowpeople Come Up Short at Ballard
|
The Ballard Beavers defeated the Ellesmere Island Snowpeople, 6-5, at Field of the Sunchasers. Chi-young Wa was named player of the game for Ballard. His 3 hits included 2 singles and 1 triple, in addition to the 1 run he scored and 4 he knocked in. The win was credited to Andrés Santos in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Kosami Matsumoto took the loss. Ballard is now 60-32, while Ellesmere Island is 41-51.
Wa had an important at-bat with the bases loaded in the bottom of the second, when he hit a bases-clearing triple. The Beavers went on to win.
