Chua Delivers Walk-Off Win for Snowpeople
|
Tomás Mata was superb against Canonniers de Quebec. The right-hander, who is tied for 6th in the 3R with a 2.59 ERA, had a fastball that was virtually unhittable at times. The result was a 3-2 Snowpeople victory. Ellesmere Island is now 38-48.
Late in the game, left fielder Wen Chua had a big at-bat for Ellesmere Island. In the bottom of the tenth, he hit a run-scoring single off Jeff McBride. The play gave the Snowpeople a 3-2 lead.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Chua. "And not try to do too much."
