Rainbow Mermaids Lose to Evergreens, 5-3
|
Portland starter Yoo-chul Mun had a strong outing against the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids at Evergreen Park. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 5-3 win. Mun, now 1-1, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 6, walking 1, and allowing 3 earned runs. Picking up the save was Júlio Rodríguez, his 6th.
Portland took control in the bottom of the sixth. With two out and runners on 1st and 3rd, Adrián Gómez hit a 3-run home run to make it 5-2, Evergreens.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Portland manager Imran Baig. "It's usually not just one thing."
The Evergreens, now 12-4, have hit the ground running this season.
